We’re Hiring a Senior Accountant (Dubai)

So we’re growing pretty fast here at Al Khaleej Investment, and honestly, our finance team needs some backup.

This isn’t your typical “sit at a desk and do journal entries” kind of role. You’d be working across our whole portfolio – different subsidiaries, various investments, and yeah, there’s always something happening that needs your attention.

Here’s what you’d actually be doing:

Our current setup has you managing cash across multiple entities (we’ve got quite a few), job hunting in UAE isn’t what you think which means you’re constantly juggling bank accounts, watching cash flow, and making sure we don’t run into any liquidity issues. It’s fast-paced.

You’d also be the one talking to our banks about credit facilities, tracking loan covenants, and basically being our go-to person when anything treasury-related comes up. Our banking relationships are pretty important to us, so this matters.

On the reporting side, we need someone who can handle the full cycle – bookkeeping, reconciliations, month-end close, the works. We’re a listed company, so audit season gets pretty intense. documents to carry for Dubai walk-in interviews. You’d be working directly with our external auditors and making sure we hit all our regulatory deadlines.

Budget season? That’s you too. Forecasting, variance analysis, board presentations – the whole nine yards.

And since we’re always trying to get better at what we do, we’d love someone who can spot inefficiencies and suggest improvements. Our ERP system could use some love, and our processes could definitely be streamlined.

What we need from you:

First off, you need to have done this before. Like, really done it. 7-10 years in a similar role,

You’ve got to be qualified – CPA, ACCA, CA, whatever – but you actually know your stuff. We’re not just checking boxes here.

Experience with IFRS is a must. Multi-entity accounting experience is huge for us. And if you’ve worked at an investment company or in real estate before, even better.

You should be comfortable with technology. Our ERP system, Excel (you’ll be doing some pretty complex modeling), maybe some Bloomberg if you’ve used it before.

But here’s the thing – technical skills aside, we need someone who can think on their feet. Someone who doesn’t panic when things get busy (and they do get busy). Someone who can explain complex financial stuff to people who aren’t accountants.
